Better Than Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup Recipe
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup water
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
We covered strawberry syrup/topping, but how could we leave out the chocolate–there’s no way!!
What You’ll Do:
Trust me, you’re 10 minutes from chocolate elation, here. (Okay, I’m calm again)
Remember that ALL syrups no matter what flavor they will be, start with equal parts sugar and water brought to a good boil. This one is no different except that you need to whisk together the sugar and cocoa at the start, to avoid lumps.
Then add the water and bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. (This is NOT something you can walk away from!) Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Then add the salt. Spoon or use a funnel to pour into a squeeze bottle. Refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
